Tomorrow, 26 September, Postdoctoral researcher at the Dipartimento di Scienze Umane at Università dell’Aquila and a Fellow of the Royal Netherlands Institute in Rome in 2022 Beatrice Falcucci will organise a workshop entitled “Staging ‘italianità’ between Race, Science and Arts“.
The keynote of the workshop will be delivered by Dr. Mariana Françozo, Associate Professor of Museum Studies at the Faculty of Archaeology, Leiden University.
This keynote will also constitute the first Knir Research Dialogue of the new year. The workshop “Staging ‘italianità’ between Race, Science, and the Arts. Museum, Exhibitions, Festivals and the Making of Identities in Italy 1911 – 1967” makes a close connection between exhibitions (and museums, fairs, expos, festivals…) and the making of identities.
Both the Italian national identity and those of “the others” (non-European peoples, colonial subjects, but also archaic humans…), are built through temporary exhibitions among other media. For more information, go to link. (Redazione)
