The judiciary and legal conflicts surrounding the Almasri case are evolving and expanding, with lawyers now actively involved. Initially, the Consiglio Superiore della Magistratura, Italy’s judiciary self-governing body, initiated a disciplinary procedure against Francesco Lo Voi, the Chief Prosecutor of Rome.
This procedure was requested by the center-right members of the Csm — Isabella Bertolini, Claudia Eccher, Daniela Bianchini, Enrico Aimi, and Felice Giuffrè — who questioned the methods and timing of Lo Voi’s actions in the Almasri case.
Now, attorney Luigi Mele has filed a complaint in Rome against Chief Prosecutor Lo Voi and his colleague attorney Luigi Li Gotti regarding the Almasri case and the registration of government leaders in the crime news register.
In his complaint, Mele accuses Li Gotti of aggravated slander, an attack against constitutional bodies, and contempt of institutions.
For Lo Voi, the accusations are aggravated omission of official acts and insult to a political body.
Mele has requested that his complaint be forwarded to the Perugia Prosecutor’s Office, the competent authority for matters concerning magistrates in the Rome district, where nothing has yet been reported.
The Perugia Court of Appeals handles cases involving judicial bodies in Rome, while the Brescia Court of Appeals is designated to handle cases involving members of the judiciary from Milan. (Redazione)
